Documentary & Oral History

The award-winning Ferguson Voices: Disrupting the Frame is a nationally traveling multimedia exhibit, website, and podcast produced as part of The Moral Courage Project, a partnership between the NGO PROOF: Media for Social Justice and University of Dayton’s Human Rights Center. This oral history project documented testimonials from the Ferguson, Missouri community in the wake of the 2014 police shooting of Michael Brown, focusing on the contributions of average people who took action during moments of unrest.

I served as the associate producer of the show, helping to shape the narrative of the series and recording and directing all narration. I also contributed field research and interviews. On this episode, I was the lead writer.

Audio Essay

While working remotely in 2020, I produced a series of four essays revolving around COVID-19 from the perspectives of medical workers. I found all original essays, coordinated recording with the authors, and edited and designed all episodes.

This essay addresses gun violence in Chicago from the perspective of a trauma surgeon, part of a mini series for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I handled all post-production of the episode.

Interview

I researched and wrote the script for this podcast from the Medical University of South Carolina. I also edited the audio in post-production.

In this episode of the Breakthroughs podcast for Northwestern University’s medical school, I hosted an interview with OBGYN Dr. Emily Miller to discuss COVID-19 vaccinations for pregnant women during the pandemic and the history of excluding them from clinical trials.
